Steps

Our new software programme, Steps, is specifically designed to reinforce both First Steps and Steps to Literacy. It contains all of the lists already, together with a set of exercises and games which children just need to work through. In addition, there is a General bank, which contains a ready-made literacy course, which a learner can work through if they are not following either of the workbook courses. It also contains extra wordlists which teachers can ‘dip into’. This includes word lists covering word families, spelling patterns or rules, and high frequency lists. There is also the facility to add your own lists, so the programme can be used to reinforce any spelling list or literacy resource.

Wordshark

Wordshark is a major teaching resource used widely in schools. It combines the excitement of computer games with the serious task of learning to read and spell. It offers 55 different games which use sound graphics and text to teach and reinforce word recognition and spelling.

Number Shark

Numbershark is a program to help improve basic numeracy. Appropriate for ages 6 to 15. It addresses many of the difficulties which lead students to dislike maths, including poor short term memory, attention span and sequencing skills. Multi-sensory presentation develops a genuine understanding of maths.

Memory Booster

Memory Booster teaches flexible memory strategies and takes the child through enjoyable exercises that develop and extend learning skills. It's also adaptive, so the activities are automatically adjusted to the abilities of each individual child. However, parents or teachers can configure the program to make it easier or harder if this should be necessary.

Note: Not to be confused with Lexia (US programme).

Thinksheet

Thinksheet excels at turning your thoughts into writing, and is like a whole lot of 'Post-It'® notes you can move around and put in to boxes. The notes are your ideas, your brainstorming, yet Thinksheet is smart enough to turn those notes into a piece of writing. You can print, or transfer the results to your word-processor. Thinksheet is perfect for revision, for dyslexics, for preparing talks, writing etc.
